# L1 - Guardian Node

IDC servers of choice

**Responsibilities and Importance:**

The L1 - Guardian node is primarily responsible for IDC and stable infrastructure providers:

1. Acting as an infrastructure provider, collaborating with Validator and L2-Edge to provide high quality storage, bandwidth and compute services to customers.
2. Monitoring and evaluating the quality of service of all L2-Edge nodes as per Validator's scheduling and reporting the results to Validator.

**Online Hours:**

Must remain online throughout the day

**Node Configuration Requirements**

To ensure high performance and stability of the network, L1 nodes must meet the following configuration requirements:

* **Processor:** 16 Virtual Cores (vCPUs)
* **Memory:** 16GB
* **Storage:** 10TB
  * In the current testnet, the expected usage is around 20% (1 to 2TB)
* N**etwork bandwidth:** 500 Mbps downstream, 200 Mbps upstream, fixed public IP (IDC)
